Machine Description
The Scoring Machine SM1, manufactured by Powis Parker, is an excellent tool for precisely scoring book covers, greeting cards, invitations, or even restaurant menus. Designed to work in tandem with the Fastback® Model 20 or Model 15xs, you can easily produce paperback books using Perfectback Strips to bind the book block and the Scoring Machine to score the book cover. The SM1 scorer's ergonomic design provides a uniform score while requiring minimal operator exertion, with an interchangeable die system that allows for single or double scoring of book covers without damaging toner based digital printed stocks.
The scoring process is easy; simply place your bound book between the Book Thickness Rings, adjust the width to match and begin scoring using the transparent die holder to see exactly where each score is being made. The Scoring Machine can score card stock up to 20 points thick and will accomodate paper sizes up to 13" x 20". When a local customer purchases a new Powis Scoring Machine SM-1 from us, we include our Saddle Point Systems One Year Local Warranty at no additional charge as described above.
Our San Francisco Bay Area customers can extend their service coverage to two years by purchasing our Saddle Point Systems Extended Performance Guarantee for their Scoring Machine for $295. In other words, you're paying for a one year service agreement and getting two years of complete coverage. Like our One Year SPS Warranty, our performance guarantee covers the cost of all parts, labor, travel time, on-site repair and, if requested, an annual preventative maintenance check to ensure your manual scorer is operating optimally. Simply give us a call and one of our technicians will come to your company, usually by the next business day, and service your machine at no additional charge.
After purchasing the Extended Annual Performance Guarantee, we'll e-mail you our Powis Scoring Machine SM-1 Agreement PDF for you to fill out. Then, either e-mail us a signed copy or mail us a signed hard copy to put the agreement in force. Annual service agreements must be purchased within 30 days of the original invoice date of your machine and are not valid unless signed and on file with us.
