Machine Description
The Fastback® Model 9, manufactuered by Powis Parker, is a compact, affordable and versatile tape binding machine that binds up to 250 pages in less than a minute, making it much faster and easier to use than traditional punch-and-bind systems at a budget-friendly price. The Model 9 has its own glue strip, called the LX Strip (not to be confused with Super Strips), which the operator creases at a 90 degree angle, places into the Model 9 and then inserts the sheets of the book into the folded strip. Then, with a touch of a button, the book is bound in less than a minute. Though the strip feeding process is not automated as with the Fastback® Model 11, 15xs and 20, its ability to do tape and hardcover binding give it an edge over coil, wire, comb or Velobind while offering the same incredibly strong thermoplastic binding technology as other Fastback® binders. Additionally, there's no warm up time, no punching pages, no sheet stacking and no mess.
Aside from standard tape and hardcover binding, Powis has released a brand new product for the Model 9 called the Image Ready LX Strip that offers an incredibly powerful way to brand your documents by allowing you to design and print your own binding strips on demand. By laying three blank strips (2"W x 11"L) on a sheet of paper, you can run the Image Blank LX Strips through a standard inkjet printer with virtually any colors, graphics or pictures, producing a spectacular looking document with the same bind strength as normal LX strips. The printed Image Strip wraps 1.25" around the front of the document, allows for printing on the back and spine of your book and will bind books up to 0.5" wide, making it extremely functional, versatile and aesthetically pleasing.

When a local customer purchases a new Fastback® Model 9 Document Binder from us, we include our Saddle Point Systems One Year Local Warranty at no additional charge as described above.
Our San Francisco Bay Area customers can extend their service coverage to two years by purchasing our Saddle Point Systems Extended Performance Guarantee for their Fastback® Model 9 for $395. In other words, you're paying for a one year service agreement and getting two years of complete coverage. Like our One Year SPS Warranty, our performance guarantee covers the cost of all parts, labor, travel time, on-site repair and, if requested, an annual preventative maintenance check to ensure your Fastback® is running optimally. Simply give us a call and one of our technicians will come to your company, usually by the next business day, and service your machine at no additional charge. If we can't fix your Fastback® Model 9 on site, we'll leave you a loaner to keep you up and running while we're repairing your machine.
After purchasing the Extended Annual Performance Guarantee, we'll e-mail you our Fastback® Model 9 Service Agreement PDF for you to fill out. Then, either e-mail us a signed copy or mail us a signed hard copy to put the agreement in force. Annual service agreements must be purchased within 30 days of the original invoice date of your Fastback® Model 9 and are not valid unless signed and on file with us.
